V.V. Ramamurthy, born on June 27, 1952, in Palakkad, Kerala, is a distinguished expert in Entomology, currently serving as an Expert at the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India, and as an Ex-Professor/Principal Scientist and National Coordinator for the Network Project on Insect Biosystematics at the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi. His academic qualifications include a B.Sc. in Agriculture (1973), an M.Sc. in Entomology (1975), a Ph.D. in Entomology/Insect Taxonomy (1981-1986), and a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Insect Biosystematics (1995-1996).
